Rhinestone Cockers began 15 years ago when I bred my black pet bitch to a tri male that Eli-Fran kennels had produced. The litter produced a tri male (Rhinestone's Rebel CDX), who, when 6 months old, won his class at a local cocker club fun match. That was all it took for me to get hooked. In the years since then I've moved from East Moline, IL, to Indianapolis, IN, to Guin, AL, where I now live with my husband, Dwayne, and our two children.
Today, we are a small, home-based kennel and are sincere believers in breeding for quality. We breed from health-tested parents. All girls have their eyes tested annually, and the stud dogs every six months. Everybody has hips x-rayed for hip displasia and registered with the Orthopedic Foundation For Animals (OFA). We also do blood checks for thyroid disorders. Our goal is to produce a healthy, happy animal that can be a part of a home for 10-15 years. A good temperment is a must.
We specialize in parti-color including Brown and the occasional Sable. Our pet puppies are sold on a spay-neuter contract with no exceptions. We do not sell puppies to be used strickly for breeding purposes, and make every effort to insure our babies don't end up in such a situation. Show prospects are available only to serious show homes that have the same ideals about quality. References are asked for and when possible, a home check is done.
